David Lee Bahn

DOVER- David Lee Bahn, 73, died on Friday, March 23, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Darlene (Hemmann) Bahn to whom he was married for 45 years. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church with his pastor, the Reverend Janyce Jorgensen officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on December 2, 1944 in York, he was a son of the late Elwood and Maryemma (Shaeffer) Bahn. He graduated from Penn State University with an Associate’s Degree in engineering. David was a tool designer for Caterpillar, Inc. in York for 33 years until his retirement. Mr. Bahn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he sang in the church choir. He also sang in the York Symphony Chorus for 25 years. David was a life member of the Hawk Gunning Club, coached Jr. High Football at Dover for many years, was an avid Penn State Football Fan and enjoyed gardening. Along with his wife, Darlene, David is survived by two sons, Gregory Bahn and fiancé, Lori Knipple of Dover and Christopher Bahn of Dover; and two step granddaughters.
