David L. Lehigh

EAST BERLIN- David L. Lehigh, 90, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday, May 1, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Marie D. Lehigh to whom he was married for 70 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with his pastor, the Reverend Dr. Margaret Wise officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on December 16, 1924 he was the son of the late Earl and Esther Lehigh. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Airforce during WWII. He retired after many years of service at Berg Electronics. Mr. Lehigh was a member of Zwingli U.C.C. Dave was a humble man who helped anytime he was needed. He loved the outdoors, gardening and photographing flowers and wild life. He loved woodworking, creating beautiful custom furniture and build their loving home. He cherished being a dad and pap. He leaves behind a family who loved him very much. His wife, Marie; daughter, Anita Mitchell and her husband, Rick of East Berlin; granddaughter, Natalie McLean and her husband, John; two great grandsons, Tyler Smith and Jacob McLean; one brother, Harold Lehigh and his wife, Pat of York; two sisters, Ruth Crone and Phyllis Morthland, both of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Lehigh; 2 grandsons, Leland Smith and Eric Smith; and three sisters, June Snyder, Dorothy Coble and Treva Gingerich. Memorial contributions may be made to Zwingli U.C.C., 403 W. King St., East Berlin, PA 17316.
