David Elwood Straub, Sr.

MILTON - David Elwood Straub, Sr., 67, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. David was born on November 18, 1940 in Mahoney Twp, Pa and was a son of the late Norman F. and Florence M. (Jones) Straub. On July 1, 1961, he had married the former Nancy L. (McMichael) to whom he celebrated 46 years of marriage. He was a former employee of the PA State Dept. of Parks, Sunbury and had retired after 30 years service. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Lewisburg. He was an usher for the church, enjoyed doing missionary work, gardening, NASCAR, collecting stamps and attending camp meetings. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by one son and his friend; David E. Straub, Jr. and Geneva Starr, both of Montandon and one brother and sister in law; Paul N. and Esther Straub of Freeburg. There will be a public viewing 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton with the funeral service being 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery. The Reverend John F. Saultz will officiate the services.
