David Andrew Yourell

MANCHESTER - David Andrew Yourell of Manchester, PA passed peacefully at home on the morning of May 7th, 2023 surrounded by family. Born in Brockton, MA on March 28, 1947 to Walter and Irene Yourell, Dave, or, as he was known to his loved ones, Bubba, spent his adolescence in Massachusetts with his parents and sister, Jane. He joined the Navy in December 1967, and served as a fire control technician aboard the U.S.S. Uhlmann. He served for exactly one year, one week, and one day.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Yourell, their three children, David and his wife, Elena, Christa, and Laura Yourell, and his sister, Jane. Dave and Pam had been married for 54 years, with the two being wedded in Wood Dale, IL on March 15th, 1969. He boasts six grandchildren, Sam, Harlow, Anna, Jonah, John and Grace, whom he commemorated on his vanity license plate: BUBBA X 6.

Rather than a service, the Yourell family will be celebrating Dave’s life at home on May 13th, 2023 at noon in the manner he requested: with beer and wine. In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be made to Northeastern Senior Center at 131 Center Street, PO Box 386, Mount Wolf, PA 17347.

Dave will be remembered as a man of dignity with a mischievous grin. He was an unparalleled storyteller, and brought both memories and tall tales to life with a creative whimsy. As a husband, brother, father and grandfather, he filled the lives of those he loved with a sense of safety and magic. He was an uncommon sort of man, and the world was made a richer place by his presence.
