David A. "Doc" Whay

DOVER- David A. "Doc" Whay, 62, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his residence. A public viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. David was born September 7, 1953 in Dover as a son of the late Vernon and Marian Whay. David loved riding his Harley. He also enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons with his family. He worked in maintenance for over 20 years at Harley until he retired this past February. Mr. Whay is survived by a son, Justin Whay and his wife Lucretia of Manchester; a daughter, Amanda Gray of Dover; four grandchildren, Cameron, Tyler, Isaiah and Cohen, and a sister, Sandy Hockenberry and her husband Rich. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Griest and a brother, Thomas Whay. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
