Darwin Joy Frey

DOVER- Darwin Joy Frey, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Cheryl J. (Fisher) Frey. Mr. Frey was born in Jerseytown, PA on January 2, 1936, the son of the late Joy Henry and Alda (Harris) Frey. Mr. Frey was a member of Hawk’s Gunning Club and the American Legion. He also served on the Dover Borough Committee. He served in The US Air Force during the Korean War. Along with his wife, he leaves three sons, Darwin J. “Tex” Frey, Jr., Daren Frey, and Shawn Frey; a daughter, Joanne Bahry; two step sons, Bill and Bradley Miller; a step daughter, Cynthia Birgensmith; three grandchildren: Alyssa Frey, Caitlyn Frey, and Craig Sult; seven step grandchildren, Lacey Zimmerman, Richard Miller, Brandon Birgensmith, Austin Miller, Jared Birgensmith, Daniel Miller, and Alexa Birgensmith; three step great grandchildren, Joey Zimmerman, Hannah Zimmerman, and Brianna Miller. He also leaves two brothers, James and David Frey; and four sisters, Eulia Morris, Ellamae Weaver, Harriet Jenkins, and Patricia Watts. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul Frey and a step grandson, Sean Miller. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements. Services will be private.
