Dartt M. Becker

Dartt M. Becker, 86, of Watsontown died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 20, 1931 in Canton, PA and was the son of the late Kenneth M. and Florence (Dartt) Becker. Dartt served his country proudly during the Korean War in the United States Navy. On August 16, 1952 Dartt married the former C. Jeanne (Eshelman), who survives. They celebrated 65 years of marriage together last year. Dartt and his wife owned and operated the Ben Franklin store, Watsontown for many years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Watsontown, Lions Club, Watsontown Area Business Association, Rod and Gun Club, a lifetime member of both the American Legion and the Watsontown Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing in Canada, antiques, auctions, bowling, shooting guns, camping, traveling and cars. In addition to his wife, Dartt is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; David M. and Linda L. Becker of Paxinos, James M. and Patti L. Becker of Watsontown and Thomas D. and Rebecca J. Becker of Lancaster, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or at alzfda.org or to the Watsontown Fire Department, 1125 Main Street, Watsontown, PA 17777 A public viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Presbyterian Church, 401 Main Street, Watsontown, PA 17777 followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m., with the Reverend Paul Smith officiating. Burial will take place privately in the Watsontown Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
