YORK- Darryl L. Lau, 77, of Manchester Township, died Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Doris E. (Stauch) Lau. They were married for over 50 years. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane in York. Pastor Janyce Jorgensen will be officiating at the service. Placement of the urn will be at Zion Lutheran Church in the columbarium, with a flag folding by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Lau was born in York on January 26, 1939, the son of the late Paul L. and Hester (Smeltzer) Lau, Jr. He retired after 39 ½ years as a technician for AT&T in New Jersey. Mr. Lau was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in York. He was a 1956 graduate of William Penn Senior High. He was also a member of the Viking Athletic Club and Hawk’s Gunning Club. He served in the US Air Force. Mr. Lau leaves two daughters, Stephanie E. Lau of York and BethAnn E. LaManna and her husband Christian of Windsor; four grandchildren, Albert Joseph Carbone, III, of Washington, NJ, and Amelia, Rhys, and Hudson LaManna of Windsor; and a sister, Paula L. Zech of Columbia, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York, PA 17404.
