Darrell J. Horton, Sr.

WRIGHTSVILLE – Darrell J. Horton, Sr. passed away Thursday January 6, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Linda S. (Johnson) Horton, to whom he was married for 50 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born July 30, 1953 in York, he was a son of the late Thomas H. and Verlyn L. (Phillips) Horton. Mr. Horton left high school and joined the Army, where he spent time in Vietnam and Germany. After his years of service, he achieved the rank of Sergeant before returning home. In his free time, Mr. Horton enjoyed watching Penn State Football, computers, and spending time with his family. Mr. Horton will always be remembered for his hard work ethic. In addition to his wife, Mr. Horton leaves behind two sons, Darrell J. Horton, Jr. and his wife Chandra, and Jeffrey L. Horton; three grandchildren, Darrell J. Horton III, Sydney L. Horton, and Cash M. Horton; and one brother, Carroll R. Horton, and his wife Rose Marie. Mr. Horton is preceded in death by a brother, James Horton, and a half sister, Lori Ann Horton.
