Darlene L. Mcarthur

YORK—Darlene L. (Blevins) Mcarthur, 61, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at UPMC-Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of William F. “Bill” Birgensmith whom she married November 21, 2014. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 14, 1960 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Erma (Kessler) Blevins. She was employed as the Secretary/Treasurer for East Berlin Borough for 15 years until her retirement in 2019. Darlene loved spending time with her grandchildren, vacationing in the Outer Banks, taking long hikes, playing the piano and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with Bill, assembling and painting model cars and was a member of the E. Berlin VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mcarthur is also survived by two daughters, Karen M. Marshall of Hanover and Melissa S. Golembieski and husband, Frank of Gettysburg; three grandchildren, Chloe, Elijah and Sebastian; step-son, Brooks; two brothers, Bruce and Keith Blevins; one sister, Dolores Blevins and nieces and nephews.
