Darlene B. Shaffer

York—Darlene B. Shaffer, 76, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at her residence in York City. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born July 22, 1940 in York, she was a daughter of the late Earl H. and Thelma Mae (Lightner) Shaffer. She was a loving homemaker. Ms. Shaffer is survived by one son, James Martin of York; three daughters, Beth Ann Brooks, Selena Ortiz and Jody Hemelgarn all of York; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William Martin and three siblings, Rodney Sheffer, Joyce Smith and Bonnie Martin. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N.
