Darlene A. (Plaisted) Hulslander

TROY- Darlene A. (Plaisted) Hulslander, 79, of Troy, PA went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at her son’s home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Ralph Wayne Hulslander who passed away in 1993. The couple married in 1952 and had 41 happy years together. A graveside committal service to honor Darlene’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Hilton Cemetery on Route 6 in East Troy with Rev. Daniel Graham of the Springfield Baptist Church officiating. The funeral arrangements entrusted to the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA. Darlene was born on July 15, 1933 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late James and Helen (Roof) Plaisted. She retired from the Martha Lloyd Community kitchen, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy, and attended the Gillett Senior Center. Darlene enjoyed knitting and made hundreds of sweaters, hats, and mittens for her family, local children and Native American children on reservations. Darlene is survived by her children Wyatt N. (Elizabeth) Hulslander of Troy, Theresa M. Hulslander Tarbox of Jordan, NY and Cindy K. (Arthur) Hulslander Hampton of Woodbridge, VA, her grandchildren: Rebecca, Melissa, Barry, Virginia, Amie, Jacob, and Tiffany, along with several nieces and nephews. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, her brothers: James Plaisted, Jr., William Plaisted, Richard Plaisted, and her sister Patricia Lungstrum.
