RED LION-Dario D. Shoff, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 19, 2010 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Kathleen E. (Conway) Shoff. The couple would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 6th. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Living Word Community Church, 2530 Cape Horn Road, York, PA, 17402 with his pastor, the Rev. Steven C. Almquist officiating. A visitation will be held 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided for by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Shoff was born in Red Lion on April 30, 1936 a son of the late Elwood K. "Bud" and Vera E. (Lamotte) Shoff. He was a graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School. Mr. Shoff was an entrepreneur who owned and operated numerous businesses over the years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving his country during the Korean War. Mr. Shoff was a member of Living Word Community Church, and a previous member of York Christian Missionary Alliance. He enjoyed watching and supporting RL High School sports and local softball teams. He was every players biggest fan. Mr. Shoff was known by his family and friends to be very social, trusting, and an optimistic man. He often helped with Meals on Wheels and at Misericordia Convalescent Home. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. In addition to his wife, Mr. Shoff is survived by a son, Rick D. Shoff and wife, Kelly Kimberly of Doylestown, PA; a daughter Sindy L. Smeltzer and husband, Kerry M. of Red Lion; six grandchildren, Derick and Kelley Shoff, Justin and Nathan Smeltzer, and Tori and Brett Kimberly; two great grandchildren, Mason Shoff and Braelyn Smeltzer; a brother in law, Gene Neff; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Darlene Neff. Memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Area Senior Center, 20 Gotham Drive, Red Lion, PA 17356.
