YORK – Dannis R. Ferree, 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at his home. He was the loving husband of Ethel N. (Eberly) Ferree to whom he was married for 65 years.
In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Ferree leaves behind a daughter, Debra Mitzel and her husband Michael of Dover; three grandchildren Shawni Mitzel, Tyler Mitzel, and Alli Mitzel; two great grandchildren, Sierarra Toomey, and Hailey Rodgers; many nieces and nephews; five brothers, David Ferree and his wife Pat, Stanley Ferree and his wife Susie, Donald Ferree and his wife Gail, Curtis Ferree Sr. and wife Linda and Marvin Ferree; a sister-in-law, Maybelle Ferree, and two brother-in-laws, Tom Frantz, and Harvey Raffensberger. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ferree is preceded in death by two brothers, Victor Ferree, Sr., and Gaylord Ferree; and two sisters, Esther Raffensberger, and Linda Frantz.
Born November 18, 1938 in Springfield Township, Mr. Ferree was a son of the late Charles and Grace (McConnell) Ferree. Mr. Ferree started off his working carrier in the carpenter union and aided in the making of some local roadways in Pennsylvania and Delaware. He later retired from Magensta Refractories formerly known as J.E. Bakers. Mr. Ferree was a life time member of Salem Lutheran Church, and was also a part of Seven Mountain Bluegrass Association, along with the Izack Walton League.

All services will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
