Daniel W. Mummert, Sr.

YORK- Daniel W. "Bill" Mummert, Sr., 67, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Diana M. (Reed) Mummert. The couple celebrated their 34th anniversary this past February. A viewing will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will be providing full military honors beginning at 5 PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Daniel, better known to some as Bill, was born January 5, 1950 in York, a son of the late Clarence and Betty Pauline (Weitkamp) Mummert. Mr. Mummert served our country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He worked as a mechanic for K&K Dodge in Wrightsville for many years. Daniel was a member of the Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, a National HOG member, the York HOG Chapter #3839 member, the Battlefield HOG Chapter #4330 member, and a former member of the NRA. He enjoyed his motorcycle, hunting and fishing, and was a gifted woodworker. In addition to his wife, Diana, Mr. Mummert is survived by a son, Daniel W. Mummert, Jr. of York; a daughter, Stephanie I. Mummert and her fiancée John Masenheimer of West York; a granddaughter, Courtney Bostdorf; three brothers, Curtis Mummert of York, Robert Mummert of York, and Eugene "Butch" Weitkamp of East Berlin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
