Daniel W. Frey, Jr.

YORK- Daniel W. Frey, Jr., 76, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Linda J. (Bennett) Frey. The couple celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on February 14, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 12:30-1:30p.m. Pastor Steven Schmuck will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Mr. Frey was born in Sunnyburn on January 11, 1942, the son of the late Daniel W. Frey, Sr. and Erma (Monroe) Frey. He was the owner and operator of Anchor Auto Salvage in Craley and also previously worked as a barber and for Borg Warner. He attended Red Lion Bible Church. Mr. Frey leaves three sons, Greg A. Frey and his companion Tammie Zech of North York, Jeffrey L. Frey of Ocala, FL, and Josh L. Frey of Hellam; two daughters, Roxanne E. Gilner and her husband Benjamin of East Petersburg, and Shelley L. Creager and her husband Randall of York; a step daughter, Sherri L. Lizotte of Middletown, and two step sons, Brian Smith of Red Lion, and Brad Smith of Manchester; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon R. Bennett and her husband Scott of Dallastown. A brother, David M. Frey preceded him in death.
