Daniel W. Boyd

Red Lion—Daniel W. "Pete" Boyd, 79, died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Fake) Boyd. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Mark A. Fillmore of Ebenezer Baptist Church, officiating. A viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in New Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the funeral chapel. Born March 20, 1929 in Lower Windsor Township, he was a son of the late Jacob D. and Pauline M. (Kohler) Boyd. He was a small business owner of Boyd's Body Shop in Red Lion, which he operated for over 25 years. A United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was also a member of the Red Lion American Legion. Mr. Boyd is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie Cooper of Red Lion and Margaret M. Wolf of York and close friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald R. Boyd. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion American Legion, 23 E.
