Daniel M. Shadle

Lock Haven - Daniel M. Shadle, 89 of Youngdale Road, McElhattan died, Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his residence. He was born November 17, 1919 at Chatam's Run the son of Rollie W. and Louise K. (Swartz) Shadle. His wife the former Lela S. "Susie" George died January 4, 2009. He served in the Army during WW II. He attended McElhattan United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his pet dog Debbie and attending the Antes Fort auction on Thursdays. Surviving are three sons Charles D. Shadle of Linden, Rollie M. (Audrey) Shadle of Lock Haven and Glenn E. (Nancy) Shadle of Jersey Shore also two step-sons Lee E. Embick of Phoenix, AZ and David W. Embick of Lock Haven. One daughter Marie E. (Butch) Bowmaster of McElhattan and one step-daughter Betty D. Neville of Jersey Shore. Seven Grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. One sister Alma Bauman of Lock Haven. He was preceded in death by a grandson Daniel N. Shadle a great-grandson Steven Meredith and six brothers and five sisters. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Rev. Fred J. Fields officiating.
