Daniel L. "Boone" Smith

RED LION- Daniel L. “Boone” Smith, 78, formerly of Felton, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Manor Care, Dallastown. He was the husband of Ilene M. (Eckert) Smith, to whom he was married for 60 years. The couple wed on October 3, 1956. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Doug Heininger officiating. A viewing will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Born on February 18, 1938 in Windsor Twp., he was a son of the late Wilber D. and Pauline M. (Grim) Smith. Daniel was a saw operator for Formit Steel Co. for 35 years until his retirement. Mr. Smith was a member of Rivers of Life Fellowship in York. Along with his wife, Ilene, Daniel is survived by one son, Daniel L. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Sandy of Red Lion; one daughter, Crystal Lawrence and her husband, Mike of Red Lion; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and nine sisters, Evelyn Grove, Jeanette Potter, Diane Warner, Loretta Knaub, Maxine Doering, Charmaine Michael, Deb Gantz, Chris Garvey and Vicki Bahn. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cherylann Nace; one great granddaughter, Madyson Stough; and two sisters, Donnie Warner and Wendy Drawbaugh.
