Daniel J. Greene

RENOVO – Daniel J. Greene, 67, of Hyner, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Ann M. (Pouliot) Greene. The couple were married on January 3, 1976 and celebrated their 41st anniversary this year. Born May 21, 1950 in Renovo, Daniel was the son of the late Charles “Mike” H. and Ann C. (Buranosky) Greene. He was a parishioner of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Renovo. Daniel was a graduate of an Electronics Technology School in Harrisburg and worked at AT&T as a manager in the Engineering Department for over 37 years. He loved soccer and was a high school referee for 25 years in Florida. He retired in 2007 and moved back to Pennsylvania where he continued his passion for hunting and being outdoors. Daniel was a member of the Renovo Elks Lodge #334. In addition to his beloved wife, Daniel is survived by one son, Theodore G. and wife, Sara of Renovo; two daughters, Danielle J. Murphy and husband, Andrew of Palm Bay, Fla., and Katie M. Ditty and husband, Justin of North Bend; seven grandchildren, Hailee, Aubrielle, Carrie, J.J., Jake, Taylor, and Anderson; two brothers, Charles “Mike” Greene and wife, Linda of Mandeville, LA, and Theodore “Ted” P. Greene and wife, Barbara of Lock Haven; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Miller and husband, Louis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 925 Huron Ave, Renovo, with Rev. Father Donald Dusza officiating. Burial will directly follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hyner. Family and friends are invited to the Renovo Fire Hall, 230 11th Street, for a light lunch directly following the graveside service. In memory of Dan, the family requests that you wear his favorite color, green. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, in Renovo is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Church ‘Improvement Fund’, 925 Huron Avenue, Renovo, PA 17764.
