WINTER HAVEN, FL-Daniel E. Stetler, Jr., 88, of Winter Haven, formerly a lifelong resident of York, died Friday, December 16, 2011 at Winter Haven Hospital. He was a husband of the late Betty J. (Landes) Stetler and the late Blanche (Schaeberle) Stetler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2121 Roosevelt Ave. in York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. at the church. The Reverend Skip Nizinski will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Mr. Stetler was born in York on January 31, 1923, a son of the late Daniel E. Stetler, Sr. and Ruth (Hays) Stetler. He retired after 36 years as the Owner and Operator of D. E. Stetler and Sons in York. Mr. Stetler was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in York. He was a formerly a member and past President of the York Kiwanis Club, served as President of Dodge Advertising Association, and was a member of Dodge National Dealer Council. He served in WWII in the US Navy Seabee’s in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Stetler leaves two sons, Daniel E. Stetler, III and his wife Kathleen of Neosho, WI and David L. Stetler and his wife Louann of York; a daughter, Nancy J. Carter and her husband Fredrick of Winter Haven, FL; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Harlan Stetler and his wife Isabel of York; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Foundation of Central PA, 4813 Jonestown Rd., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
