AIRVILLE- Daniel D. "Jack" Schrum, 73, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of Carrie E (Harper) Schrum. The couple celebrated their 52nd anniversary July 1st. A funeral tribute service will be 11 a.m. Thursday January 3, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. Burial with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Jack enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Conewago Trail Riders and Circle T Trail Riders. He was also a member of Teamsters Union 776 and New Bridgeville Fire Company. Jack was truck driver for 40 years. He was employed with D.E. Hartman Trucking Company and retired from Pilot Freight in 1995. Jack was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1957 to 1959 as a guided missile technician. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by four daughters, Debra Shaull and her husband Duane of Brogue, Dianna Leiphart and her husband Eric, of Airville, Dolores Krick and her husband Stephen, of Airville and Darlene Fike and her husband Walter, of Felton; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Schrum of Seven Valleys, Melvin Schrum of East Berlin, Robert Schrum of Dover and Kurvin Schrum of York; three sisters, Frances Miller of York, Lovella Myers of York, and Lucy Heiner of Dover. His two sisters, Georgiana Schrum and Elizabeth Schuchart precede him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association, 218 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
