Dalton L. "Dale" Bode

DOVER- Dalton L. “Dale” Bode, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Chilcoat) Bode to whom he was married for 63 years. Born at home in York on May 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Elmer W. Bode and Bessie M. (Schubauer) Bode-Lauer. He graduated from William Penn High School and worked for General Tire before being drafted into the Army in 1958-1960, spending his service at Fort Dix in Georgia and Wildfleckin, Germany. Dale enjoyed working at Wolf Distributing for 47 years until his retirement in June 2007 at the age of 71. He attended Living Word Community Church. Along with his wife, Sandra, Dale is survived by his daughter, Sharon Bode and her husband, John Cimbalo of Canandaigua, NY; son David Bode and his wife, Cynthia of York; four grandchildren, Benjamin Bode and his wife, Ciara, Sarah Lingg and her husband, Kyle, Morgan Jones and her husband, Mark and Alec Bode; five great-grandchildren, Gwendalynn and Hudson Bode, Amelia and Harrison Lingg and Natalie Jones; brother, Frederick Bode; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Robert Bode, Theodore Bode and step brothers, William and Elmer Bodie and step sister, Dorothy Luciano. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Pastor Josh Kleinfeld from Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene officiating.
