RED LION - Dale William Eaton, 66, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Trudy Lynn (Beaverson) Eaton. The couple celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on November 22, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. The Reverend Steven Schmuck will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Dale was born in York on July 1, 1945, son of Betty (Keller) Eaton Poet of Red Lion and the late William L. Eaton. He worked as a forklift operator for 40 years for Tate, Inc. in Red Lion. Dale was a 1963 graduate of Red Lion High School, and a member of Red Lion VFW and the ABC Bowling Congress. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed playing watching, and coaching baseball, along with attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Dale leaves two daughters, Shelly Miller and her husband John, Jr. of Red Lion and Kelly Flinchbaugh and her husband Shawn of Craley; three grandchildren, Shayla Miller and Kade and Braden Flinchbaugh; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Vets in Need, c/o York County Veterans Affairs, 100 West Market Street, York, PA 17401.
