RED LION - Dale Vernon Miller, 89, died on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Betty Jane (Kimmons) Miller. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Todd Smith officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Shenberger Chapel Cemetery. Born on November 16, 1924 in Chanceford Twp., he was a son of the late William A. and Mabel O. (Krewson) Miller. Dale retired from Ettline Foods after 25 years and was a farmer for his entire life on his 240 year old family farm. He was always proud that he was never admitted into the hospital. Mr. Miller was a charter member of SonLight Chapel. Along with his wife, Betty, Dale is survived by three sons, Alan C. Miller and his wife, Susan of Red Lion, Bruce Miller and his wife, Susan of Red Lion and David Miller of Windsor; two daughters, Jean A. Miller of Red Lion and Marie Dunstan of Lewisberry; nine grandchildren, Alisha Miller, Amy Sweeney and her husband, Grant, Brandi Wagner and her husband, William, Andrea Wurzbacher and her husband, Brock, Ashley Sipe and her husband, Grant, Robyn Dunstan, Wendy Dunstan, Diana Miller and Tyler Miller; one brother, Mervin S. Miller of Brogue; and one sister, Ethel Hannigan and her husband, Lloyd of Airville. He was preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bridgeville Memorial Fire Co., 2870 Furnace Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356 or SonLight Chapel, 10025 Chapel Church Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356.
