Dale L. Mathias

YORK- Dale L. Mathias, 68, died on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Sandra K. (Watson) Mathias, to whom he was married for 29 years. Services for Mr. Mathias are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on August 14, 1947 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Calvin and Margaret (Prowant) Mathias. Dale was a dietician for Manor Care North until his retirement in 2009. Mr. Mathias served our country in the United States Army during the Vienam War. Dale enjoyed golfing, working in his yard and spending time at the Outer Banks. Along with his wife Sandra, Dale is survived by two sons, Harold Mathias and his wife, Bobbi of Watsontown and Matthew Mathias of Williamsport; one daughter, Heather Goss and her husband, Daniel of Watsontown; two stepsons, Vincent Hittie of Monroe, MI and Robert Hittie of Thomasville; one stepdaughter, Tina Miller and her husband, Ron of Mill Hall; 12 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Mathias and his wife, Helen of McEwensville and Charles Mathias and his wife, Betty of Watsontown; two sisters, Gloria Biichle and her husband, Harold of South Williamsport and Maxine Raup of Danville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Lester Hittie. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N.
