Red Lion—Dale L. Grim, 68, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Rosalie Ann (Raffensberger) Grim to whom he was married for 39 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 am, Monday, August 29, 2011 at Adamsville United Methodist Church, Meadowview Drive, Red Lion, with Pastor Troy R. Harrold officiating. Viewings will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11 am, Monday, at the church. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born August 22, 1943 in Adamsville, he was the son of the late, Truman A. and Bessie I. (Shaffer) Grim. Dale was a 1961 graduate of Dallastown Area High School, where he participated in the junior play. Interested in aviation, he sought a degree in aeronautical engineering. However, distance from his family and community did not prove favorable. So he turned to York College to complete his education and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in business management. A life-long member of Adamsville United Methodist Church, where he was a lay leader, organist, and sang in the church choir. His church life was very important to him and the way he responded to others. Everyone was a special child of God who deserved joyful and compassionate treatment. He was employed with Allis Chalmers for several years and later retired from Caterpillar as a Security Officer after 25 years of dedicated service. Dale was an aviation enthusiast. After attaining his pilot’s license, he owned five planes over the course of his life and continued his interest many years later. He also loved being outdoors, gardening, was an extremely talented handy man and his thirst of knowledge kept him reading in his spare time. In addition to his wife, Dale is also survived by two sons, Bryan L. Grim and girlfriend, Melissa of Red Lion and Jonathan P. Grim and wife, Amanda of Red Lion, four granddaughters, Katie, Natalie, Ava and Cassandra Grim, and one sister, Mary E. Grim of York. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Adamsville United Methodist Church, 81 N. Main Street, Yoe, Pa 17313 or Heartland Hospice 3417-C Concord Rd, York, Pa 17402.
