Dale J. Finnerty

EAST SMITHFIELD- Dale J. Finnerty, 66, of East Smithfield, PA, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Ida (Vroman) Finnerty who he married in 1995. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Dales life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 23rd at the funeral home with his pastor, Rev. Stan Gill, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of Dales family in Bradford County Memorial Park. Dale was born on September 21, 1944 in Troy, PA, son of the late John and Doris (McClure) Finnerty. He was a graduate of East Smithfield High School (SRU) and was a veteran of the United States Navy. After the navy he became a farmer. He was a member of the East Smithfield Federated Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8675 Troy, PA. Dale is survived by his wife Ida, his children: Suzette (Jody) Finnerty Bates of East Smithfield, PA, Thomas D. (Brenda) Finnerty also of East Smithfield, PA, Rachel Trent (Tim Ferger) of Waverly, NY, Stacy (Daryl) Kent of Troy, PA, Dannielle (Mike) Bramley of Forest City, PA, Suzzette Woodruff of East Smithfield, PA, and Adam Vroman also of East Smithfield, PA, 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, his brothers Alfred (Beverly) Finnerty of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, and Gavin (Ellen) Finnerty of East Smithfield, PA, his sister Judy (Vincent) Arena of Litchfield, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Ann (Gerould) Finnerty.
