Dale E. 'Woody' Sipe

YORK – Dale E. “Woody” Sipe, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on his 78th birthday surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer. He was the husband of Beverly A. “Babe” (Witmer) Sipe to whom he was married for 58 years on August 8, 2011. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born January 31, 1934 in Pleasant Grove, York County; a son of the late Harry M. and Jennie (Shaeffer) Sipe, he was co-owner of Sipe’s Driveway Sealing. Mr. Sipe was a member of York County Racing Club, Goldsboro Fireman’s Club, Shiloh American Legion, and Etters VFW Post 537. Woody enjoyed local stock car racing, winters in Florida, and spending time with his family. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sipe is survived by two sons, Jerry A. and wife Mary Jane Sipe of Etters and Scott M. and wife Sandy Sipe of York; two daughters, Pamela S. Kramer and husband Stephen Rubesch of York and Kelly J. and husband David Smith of Ft. Myers, FL; seven grandchildren, Brandon Kramer, Jennifer and Jessica Sipe, Amanda McCardle, Jason Sipe, Michael McCardle, and Lane Sipe; two brothers, Sidney and Stanley Sipe; four sisters, Virginia Holler, Shirley Emswiler, Sarah Miller, and Linda Barnhart; and several nieces and nephews.
