Dakota C. Dixon

GLEN ROCK - Surrounded by family, Dakota Dixon, at the age of 7, on May 13th, 2024, left his earthly body to be with Jesus. Dakota was born on September 26, 2016 in Bedford, PA to loving parents Alicia and Nick Dixon.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 9:00 AM located at Red Lion Bible Church, 105 Springvale Rd., Red Lion, with Pastor Steven Schmuck officiating the service. There will be a visitation afterwards from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. A luncheon will follow in the church gymnasium. In honor of Kota Bear’s life, the family asks everyone to wear their Dakota’s Army shirts or the colors blue or green. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at a later date.

The service will be live streamed at www.redlionbiblechurch.com. To view the live stream, go to the church's website, scroll towards the bottom, and click the "live stream" button. This will lead you to their YouTube link.

Dakota was a smart boy who loved life. He loved going to school, he loved his friends, and he had the spirit of a WARRIOR, which just so happens to be his school mascot. Playing in muddy puddles with his grandfather who he adored was something Kota loved to do. He loved to be outside, and his favorite hobbies included spending time on the lake, swimming and waterslides, and riding four wheelers or the side by side with daddy. When Kota was not outside, he enjoyed playing Wobbly Life, Minecraft, and Fortnite on his Xbox. He also enjoyed a good back scratch from his Grammy.

Traveling was something that Dakota adored. His favorite place in the world was Florida and being on the beach. Before his passing, Dakota made a wish to go to Disney World, but once he got a small glimpse of Heaven, he realized that Disney wasn’t the happiest place, and decided that being with Jesus was far more fun. Another wish that Dakota made was to have a golden retriever named “Fluffy.” Fluffy will soon be joining the family, and will honor Dakota by putting a smile on the faces of many other children fighting cancer.

Although Dakota has many friends, his best friend is by far his little sister Hayley. The two were a dynamic duo that enjoyed dancing together, playing together, making prank phone calls, and engaging in all the silliness. Hayley will miss her big brother tremendously.

Over the course of 7 years, Dakota has gained friends and family from all over the world- everyone loves him. Dakota will especially be missed not only by his parents Alicia and Nick Dixon, but by his little sister Hayley Dixon; his great-grandparents Bill Jr. and his wife Sherry Vance, Jeffrey and his wife Deborah Frey, and Nina Smith; grandparents Trudy and her husband Chris Fahs, Billy III and his wife Wendy Vance, and Greg and Christine Dixon; aunts; uncles; and cousins. He has tons of them, seriously. He is preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Joy Dixon.

Dakota’s favorite song was “Joy” by For King and Country. The song truly exemplifies how Dakota lived his life from start to finish. Dakota constantly chose joy, even during his toughest battle. He was a fighter, and fought hard so that we can make a choice to choose joy as well. We are all so sad that Dakota is no longer here with us, but we celebrate the fact that we will all laugh, dance, and party hard with Dakota in Heaven once again. We will miss Dakota, our hearts ache, we love him to the moon and back, but we know that GOD WINS so we will choose joy.
