D. Elaine (Burke) Ward

Dallastown- D. Elaine (Burke) Ward, 86, formerly of the Red Lion area, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Dallastown Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Maurice E. Ward and the late Richard H. Warner. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. The Reverend Dr. Charles W. Salisbury will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ward was born in Windsor on August 13, 1924, the daughter of the late Luther A. and Mildred A. (Gulden) Burke. She worked as a Secretary for Pfaltzgraff Company. Mrs. Ward had previously attended St. John's UCC in Red Lion and was a 1942 graduate of Red Lion High School. Mrs. Ward leaves three sons, Chris R. Warner of East Berlin, Brock R. Warner of Red Lion, and Eric L. Warner, of Dallastown; a daughter, Joan E. Sweitzer of Felton; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther W. Burke.
