RED LION - Cynthia “Cindi” Sondej, 51, died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in York. She leaves her fiancé Bob M. Conway, Jr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 3:30-5 p.m. Certified Celebrant Jessica Smith will be officiating at the service. Cindi was born in Trenton, NJ on September 26, 1962. She is survived by her mother Alma L. Poksay and her husband, Dr. Robert Poksay of Sewell, NJ, and by her father Edward P. Sondej of Hamilton, NJ. She worked for York Sheet Metal in accounting and held several other positions with them as well. Cindi's pets were a huge part of her life. She was an avid dog lover, especially corgis and was a member of the 'Corgi Nation' - a handful of corgi-loving Facebook friends. While living in North Carolina for some time she was a member and enjoyed participating in the Daughters' of the South re-enactments. Her favorite pass time was crocheting, needlework and playing the piano. Cindi leaves three sisters, Lydia (Sondej) Rios and her husband Ruben of Hamilton, NJ, Debra Ravenkamp and her husband Ed of Atco, NJ, and Jennifer Poksay of Atco, NJ; several nieces, nephews, many cousins; her fiancé’s son, Shane Michael Conway; and her four legged children, Gretchen and Taz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403 or the friends of the Corgi Nation.
