Cynthia E. "Cindy" (Cooley) Torchia

YORK- Cynthia "Cindy" E. Torchia, 59, died on Monday, February 5, 2024 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Jason E. Torchia to whom she was married 33 years.

Services for Cindy are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.

Born on May 22, 1964 in Utica, NY, she was a daughter of the late Don and Barbara (Eddy) Cooley. Cindy was a functional analyst for Stantec Consulting, Inc. for 38 years.

Cindy had been a member of the Smithfield Band Boosters Club, Smithfield Gifted Advisory Committee, and the Church of the Good Shepard.

Along with her husband, Jason, Cindy is survived by her son, Patrick Torchia of Tucson, AZ, their family dog Trevor, her sister, Barbara Stafford and her husband, Tom of Zuni, VA, her two brothers, Donald Cooley and his wife, Liz of Utica, NY, and George Cooley, her brother-in-law, Tom Torchia and his wife, Joanne of Utica, NY, and several nieces and nephews: nephew Donald Cooley and his wife Rhiannon with their daughter Juliana, nephew Andrew Cooley and his son Evan, niece Tabitha Jefferson with her daughters Makayla and Chloe, niece Sabrina Billigmeier and her daughter Zabrea, niece Julie Douglas with her husband David and their children Dalaynie and Jackson, niece Charity Minor and her daughter Hazel, nephew Thomas Torchia, and niece Taylor Torchia. She was preceded in death by her nephew Anthony Torchia.
