Craig E. "Digger" Ludwig

Red Lion – Craig E. “Digger” Ludwig, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Donna Sue (Slenker) Ludwig for 42 years. A special service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born May 6, 1957, in York, he was a son of Clarence “Click” and the late Lois (Wagner) Ludwig. Craig graduated from Dallastown High School in 1975. He was a skilled heavy equipment operator and was self-employed since 1996. He had a strong work ethic and could make any job fun. Craig enjoyed hunting deer, calling in turkeys, sawing down trees, splitting firewood and singing. He was a Boston Red Sox fan. Most of all, Craig liked to help others and just be around people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, at any time. He had a repertoire of witticisms that he liked to draw from at just the right moment. In addition to his wife and father, Craig is survived by three daughters, Michelle Sanborn and her husband, Brooks of Seven Valleys, Danielle Woo and her husband, Tyler of Sedona, AZ and Anissa Keesey and her husband, Ben of Red Lion. He was a proud Poppy to seven grandchildren, Cambria and Kai Sanborn, Grayden, Adelyn, and Cedar Keesey, T.J. and soon to be born Lucy Lynn Woo; a brother Brad Ludwig (Gaye); a twin sister, Christine Feathers (Bob); and an uncle whom he loved like a brother, John Wagner (Brenda). He was blessed with many nieces, nephews and a large extended family. To honor him we ask that you plant a tree, take a walk in the woods, or share a story with someone. Craig was a member of Water’s Edge United Methodist Church.
