Cora E. 'Libby' (Whiteford) Dellinger

RED LION - Cora E. “Libby” (Whiteford) Dellinger, 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday July 31, 2013 while residing at the Dallastown Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Russell L. “Dick” Dellinger, who entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2001. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion. A viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday and a visitation from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Red Lion Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born on February 16, 1919 in Hartford County, MD, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Louise (Barton) Whiteford. Libby was a sleeve setter for Stewartstown Sewing Factory for a number of decades and later worked as a custodian for the Red Lion Area School District. Mrs. Dellinger was a long time member of Red Lion Zion United Methodist Church. Libby volunteered for a number of years at the Windsor Township Polling Station and also enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Dellinger is survived by a son, Jan Dellinger of Red Lion; a sister in law, Hildred Phillips of Red Lion; four nieces, Betty Ann Kessee of Delta, Maxine Mittel of York, Ruth Ann Gragg of Forrest Hills, MD and Patricia Grimm of Red Lion; and three nephews, Robert Whiteford, Sr. of York, Eugene Whiteford of Pylesville, MD and John Phillips, Jr. of Dallastown. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Nettie Moore, Evelyn Seitz, Nancy Lentz and Lillian Boyle; four brothers, Barton, Walter, Hugh and Richard “Harry” Whiteford; a daughter in law, Joan Dellinger; and four nephews, Edward and James Whiteford, Eugene Lentz and Robert Moore. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Zion United Methodist Church, 155 Felton Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356 or Grane Hospice, 3501 Concord Rd., Suite 110, York, PA 17402.
