Connor Douglas Slates

YORK – Connor Douglas Slates, 22, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He was the son of Douglas W. and Jane E. (Ferree) Slates. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Adam Bower officiating. A visitation will be held from 3-4:00 PM Sunday at the Funeral Home. Born March 21, 1990 in Pottsville, PA; he was a 2008 graduate of Dallastown Senior High School. While in high school, Connor played on the tennis team and had won the YAIAA County Doubles Championship. He enjoyed composing music, playing his bass guitar, and jamming out with his friends. Connor also liked to play golf, read, and write poetry. He had attended Praise Community Church and Living Word Community Church. In addition to his parents, Connor is survived by a brother, Chris J. Slates of York; paternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Ann Slates of Jacobus; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Nancy Ferree of York; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joan Slates.
