Cletus L. Coble

YORK – Cletus L. Coble, 83, went home to be with his Lord, Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Country Meadows on Trolley Road. He was the husband of Marjorie E. (Van Lear) Coble to whom he was married 65 years. Services will be private at the request of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Coble was born January 15, 1928 in York. He was a son of the late Walter and Leah (Eppley) Coble. He was president and founder of EPCO Pharmacies until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Coble was a graduate of Lemoyne High school where he served as class president, and went on to graduate from Temple University School of Pharmacy. Mr. Coble was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Freemasons. He was a former school board president for Central York High School. Mr. Coble was also an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Coble is survived by two sons, Cletus L. Coble, Jr. of California and Matthew Coble and wife Karen of Thomasville; two daughters, Shauna Holtzapple of Dover and Jenifer Bruner and husband Robert of York; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Neil Coble and wife Carol of York; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Fisher and a son-in-law, Gary Holtzapple. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AseraCare Hospice, 44 Bowman Road, York, PA 17408 or Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Ave., York, PA 17408.
