YORK - Cleon H. Becker, 83, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at Victorian Villa in Dallastown. He was the husband of the late Clara E. (Stoppard) Becker. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road. A viewing will be held 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Becker was born December 24, 1924, a son of the late John F. and Myrtle (Schroll) Becker. He was employed as a boiler operator for St. Regis Paper Mill for over 25 years until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Becker was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country for four years in WWII. Mr. Becker is survived by three sons, Clifford L. Becker and wife Barbara of Thomasville, Rodger D. Becker and wife Vicki of York New Salem, and Larry E. Becker of York New Salem; three daughters, Barbara F. Smith and husband Fred of Dover, Gloria J. Jacobs and husband Ken of York, Joyce E. Brooks and husband Garry of Brogue; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Clair Becker of York, five sisters, Beatrice Godfrey of Dallastown, Margaret Eisenhower of Hellam, Delores Poff of Mt. Pisgah, Janet Greenplate of York, and Joyce Baker of Jacobus; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Carl E., Chester, Floyd and Ralph Becker; and one sister, Mary Becker. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave, Lebanon, Pa, 17042.
