Cleo (Smith) Fulton passed away at the age of 100 on Friday, May 27, 2016 at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. She was the wife of the late John Henry Fulton who passed away on January 1, 1991. Born September 21, 1915 in York, to the late Roy M. and Myrtle (Barnhart) Smith of Red Lion, she celebrated her 100th birthday with family at a party in the Wellsboro Shared Home where she was residing at that time. Cleo grew up in Red Lion, attended Red Lion Schools and enjoyed babysitting during her summer vacations. She worked at a cigar factory in Red Lion until a few years after her marriage to John Henry Fulton in Red Lion on February 16, 1946. John and Cleo resided in York for many years where she was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, and quilting. Vacations were spent in the northern Pennsylvania mountains and they enjoyed numerous bus trips. As a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in York for 60 years, she participated in Sunday School Class #16, Jubilee Class and Trincoheir, enjoying numerous church sponsored bus trips for retreats and recreation. She is survived by a daughter, Joan Fulton Waltemyer, who is married to Tyrone Kenneth Waltemyer, and resides in Morris, PA; a granddaughter, Adrienne Lynn Waltemyer and a great-grandson John Fulton Richcreek, both of Wellsboro; a sister, Annabell Smith Hanna of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Smith Koontz; and three brothers, Lester, Jay and Elwood Smith. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wellsboro Shared Home, 27 Bacon Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901, a mission of the Baptist Church or Susquehanna Health Hospice, 24 Walnut Street, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
