Clayton Samuel Grove

RED LION - Clayton Samuel Grove, 86, died Wednesday,November 7, 2007 at Manor Care Dallastown. He was the husband of the late Theda M. [Schmuck] Grove. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with his interim pastor, the Rev. Steven E. Thomas officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Paul [Lebanon] Lutheran Cemetery with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Grove was born September 20, 1921 in Felton, a son of the late Clayton S. and Margaret [Deller] Grove. Beginning in 1946, he worked for Warner's Dairy of Red Lion for 27 years serving as a route salesman, route foreman, and then in charge of ice cream and milk sales. He then worked at Rutter's Dairy for 29 years as a sales representative for ice cream and milk. He was a US Army veteran of WWII; served as past president of the York County Meat Dealer Assoc.; and had served on the Red Lion School Board for six years and Felton Borough Council for 10 years. He also was a member of the Keystone Ice Cream Assoc.; York Industrial Management Club; Silver Bay Club; and St. Paul [Lebanon] Lutheran Church in Felton. Mr. Grove is survived by two sons, Dane R. and wife Carol Grove of Glen Rock and Corey M. and wife Eleanor Grove of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Eric, and Danielle Grove, and Lisa Toledo; a great granddaughter, Safie Proctor; a brother, LaMarr Grove of Felton; and four sisters, Dawn Overmiller of Windsor, Charmaine Seitz of Wapwallopen, PA, Gloria Fanucci of Enterprise, AL, and Nedra Williams of Lewisberry. He was preceded in death by a son, Darr C. Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul [Lebanon] Lutheran Church, 6955 Rippling Run Road, Felton, PA 17322.
