CRALEY Clarence E. "Bud" Miller, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy J. (Haugh) Miller, and the companion of Esther M. Leiphart of York. A celebration of life service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Brandon W. Testerman officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Bud was born July 19, 1931, in Lebanon County a son of the late Lillie (Bupp) Miller and the late Clarence E. Miller, Sr. He worked at American Chain and Cable for 26 years, then retired from PA Stone Products. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. In his younger years, Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Miller was a former member of York Auxiliary Citizens Band Radio Club. Mr. Miller was a member of Cornerstone Community Church. Bud was very active at Susquehanna Senior Center where he headed their card club and played 500 and poker. He also played 500 in the PA Senior Olympics. He enjoyed working with wood and plastic canvas. Throughout his life, Bud's ability to pick on folks entertained many, and endeared him to all those he met. Mr. Miller is survived by a daughter, Sherry L. and husband, Randy Leiphart of Wrightsville; a son, Mark O. and wife, Janet Miller of York; three grandchildren, Mandi, Joshua, and Dwayne; four great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Root, and a stepbrother. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susquehanna Senior Center, 2427 Craley Road, Wrightsville, PA 17368; or to the American Lung Assoc., 3001 Old Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
