WILKES-BARRE-Clara Jean Henderson, 61, of Lehigh Street, Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday at her home after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Susie Allen Henderson. She was a 1965 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. She was also a 1966 graduate of the Robert Packer Hospital School of Surgical Technology. Ms. Henderson was formerly employed by the Wyoming Valley Hospital, N.P.W., and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for over 20 years as a Surgical Technician/ Operating Room Nurse. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Plymouth. She was a former member of Berean Baptist Church and Bethel A.M.E. Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Watson, who also battled Multiple Sclerosis. Surviving is her daughter, Tamara, Wilkes-Barre; sisters Becky Heath and her husband, Richard, Phoenix, AZ; Minnie Nolan and her husband, Kerry, Hopewell, VA; Jennie Henderson, Wilkes-Barre; brothers First Sergeant James A. Henderson, Jr. and Glen Henderson, both of Wilkes-Barre; Johnie Henderson and his wife Debbie, Scranton; great-uncles Frank Allen, Wilkes-Barre; Robert Allen, El Paso, TX; Jettie Allen, Jr. and James L. Allen both of Raleigh, NC; great aunt, Lonnie Mae Hedgepeth, Raleigh, NC; aunts, Allie G. Harris and her husband, Nathan, Creedmoor, NC; Ernestine Oliver and her husband Edward, Lily Knight, Selena Henderson, Beverly Zimmerman and her husband, Charles, all of Durham, NC; Linda Goodwin, Mount Holly, NJ; Vivian Henderson, Atlanta, GA; uncles Thomas Henderson and his wife Dolores, Hamden, CT; Marvin Henderson, Butler, NC; Odell Henderson and Julius Henderson, Jr., both of Durham, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 39 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth, with Pastor Kevin Mansfield officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
