Clara B. Kinard

RED LION Clara B. (Burkins) Kinard, 86, of Red Lion died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at her home. She was the wife of the late Wayne L. Kinard. A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, 250 Bethlehem Church Rd., Red Lion with her pastor, the Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Stonepile Church Cemetery. Viewings will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church, Born in York on June 9, 1931, Clara was the daughter of the late Roy and Helen (Torbet) Burkins. She was a 1949 graduate of Stewartstown High School and later the Empire Beauty School. She was an active member of Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church and sang on the church choir. She also helped to teach Sunday School and had assisted with Vacation Bible School over the years. She was also a member of the Equine Meadows Singers as well as New Song, a traveling choir. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed sewing, NASCAR, gardening in her flower beds, boating and even water skiing. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Kinard is survived by her three sons, Kevin Kinard and wife, Lisa of Red Lion, Keith Kinard and wife, Kim of Airville, Kent Kinard and wife, Carla of Dallastown; her daughter Kelly Kinard and husband, Carl Geiser of Windsor; grandchildren, Lee Kinard and fiancé, Amanda, Anna Katt and husband, Otto, Janel Kinard, Caleb Kinard, Jamin Kinard, Garret Kinard, and Ethan Kinard. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Kinard in 2015 and her brother, William “Sonny” Burkins in 2016.
