Clair M. Burtner

RED LION – Clair M. Burtner, 97, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Margaret B. (Smith) Burtner. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 8, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Elder David Kegerreis and Elder Keith Snyder officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Community Cemetery. Born November 3, 1915 in Red Lion a son of the late James A. and Mary M. (Frey) Burtner, he retired from Campbell Chain in 1978 after 35 years of service. Mr. Burtner also loved farming and raised cantaloupes and watermelons for Weis and Giant Grocery Stores. He was a member of Shrewsbury Dunkard Brethren Church. Mr. Burtner is survived by a son, Barry C. and wife Ruth A. Burtner of Red Lion; a grandson, Glenn Burtner, Sr.; and two great grandsons, Glenn Burtner, Jr. and Glenn Burtner, III. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Westhafer and Ruth Young.
