YORK – Clair G. Grove, 75, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Ardene L. (Bucher) Grove to whom he was married for 29 years on January 22, 2012. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Steven Schmuck officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The Grove family requests casual dress for funeral services. Born February 18, 1937 in Windsor Twp., a son of the late Gordon F. and Beatrice L. (Reichard) Grove, he was a 1955 graduate of Red Lion High School. Mr. Grove worked at Green’s Dairy and later retired from Schmidt Baking Co. in 1999. He was a member of Springfield Twp. Farmers & Sportsman Assoc., Fox Trot Hunting Club, and had previously attended Red Lion Zion U.M. Church. Clair enjoyed bowling, hunting, playing cards with friends, and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Grove is survived by three daughters, Sandra J. and husband David Kral of Red Lion, Sherri L. Grove of Red Lion, and Shelley L. Grove of Lagrange, GA; two sons, Bryan L. and wife Debra Grove of Dover and Blaine L. and wife Jodi Grove of Thomasville; two stepsons, Steven Witmer of Strinestown and Bryan and wife Kelly Witmer of Zion’s View; 11 grandchildren, Dayne and Lexie Grove, Zach and wife Stephanie Grove, Garrett Grove, Mitch and wife Courtney Howell, Jozie Shiflett, Adam and Dan Kral, Matthew, Amanda, and Stephanie Witmer; and two sisters, Edna Ruppert of York and Nancy Kornbau of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Dale Witmer; and two brothers, twins Ernest and Emery Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Twp. Farmers and Sportsman Assoc., 1251 Valley Road, Jacobus, PA 17407.
