Cindy K. Pompili

RENOVO - Cindy Hook Pompili, 51, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend was surrounded by her family as she took her place in heaven on March 18, 2013 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born January 29, 1962, in Renovo, Pennsylvania to Ursula Hook and William (Bill) Hook; she was one of four children. Growing up, her childhood was filled with lots of laughter and love. The Hook household is often remembered as the hangout spot for Cindy and her friends. Many of those friends still live in town or she has kept in close contact with those who moved away. Upon graduating from Bucktail Area High School, she took the position of secretary, a job that she so enjoyed, in a school that she loved. Her school spirit was contagious and emanated from her soul. Over the years she could often be found rooting the Bucks on from the sidelines sporting her cherry and white. She was also advisor for countless Bucktail classes and clubs, as well as cheerleading coach. Cindy was a confidant and friend to many of her coworkers, as well as, generations of students. Many of you may remember her as a classmate or may have had the pleasure of having her be a pillar of light for your children in those same halls. Whatever your connection with Cindy, she was the heart and soul of Bucktail. In 1982 Cindy married Lewis Pompili also of Renovo, Pennsylvania. They were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family at the Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Renovo. They celebrated 30 years of marriage together. Their loving relationship eventually grew into a family of five with the birth of their daughters: Danielle, Larissa and Taylor. Her girls were her entire world. She wanted to raise them in a community where everyone knew everyone and family values were the way of life. She showered them with constant love, attention, and praise. All three of them secretly know that they are their mother’s favorite. Cindy led her girls by example; to be down to earth, never forget where you came from, honor your friends and family, treat people kindly, and to always look good doing it. As much as she loved her family, friends, and alma mater, she was equally as proud of her community. In a town rich in history (another passion of hers), beautiful majestic mountains, and peacefully flowing river, it truly was her Eden. She cherished the people that lived and currently reside in town and would never have thought to raise her family anywhere else. Cindy, was also an active member of the community; she was a member of the Sons of Italy and North Bend Fire Hall Women’s Auxiliary. She is survived by her adoring husband: Louie Pompili, and three beautiful daughters (whom she called her angels): Danielle, Larissa and Taylor. She is also survived by her mother: Ursula Hook Sauer and siblings: Darlene Hook Stellfox, Sandy (Jerry) Goetz, and Bill (Debbie) Hook. Cindy also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, godchildren, in-laws and beloved friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. A funeral Mass will be held directly after. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bucktail Medical Center,1001 Pine St., S. Renovo, PA 17764, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Building Fund. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner. Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo has charge of arrangements.
