Christine G. (Thames) Brunson

MILTON - Christine G. (Thames) Brunson, 85, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Milton Nursing and Rehab Center, Milton. She was born in Manning, South Carolina on April 03, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Luther and Angeline (Pendergrass) Thames. Christine worked for the Milton Hotel in the kitchen and then went on to work and retire from the Milton Developmental Service as an aide. Christine was a member of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church, Milton for over 50 years where she served on the usher board. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, gardening, playing bingo at Kramm’s but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Christine is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Loman R. and Sandra J. Brunson of Milton and Daniel and Doreen Brunson, Jr. of Tulsa, OK, three daughters; Ruth J. Holder of Milton, Ethel L. Grimes of Tyler, TX and Barbara A. Van Every of Largo, FL, nine grandchildren; Stephanie Hunter, Michael Van Every and his wife Tori, Stephen Van Every, Sarah Brunson, Elisabeth Brunson, John Grimes, III, Rachael Brunson, Naomi Brunson and Hannah Grimes, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandson, one brother; John L. Thames of Miami, FL and three sisters and one brother-in-law; Clara and James Jones of East Haven, CT, Naomi Blair and Henrietta Ragin both of Manning, SC. In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her ex-husband; Daniel P. Brunson, Sr., five brothers; Emanuel, Roosevelt, Olden, Willie and Harry Thames and one sister; Luthery Pearson. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s A.M.E. Church, 232 Willow Street, Milton, PA 17847 or to the Salvation Army, Milton branch, 30 Center Street, Milton, PA 17847. A public viewing will be held 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m. with the Reverend Donald Spiller officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
