YORK – Charlotte M. (Jacobs) Gallatin, 93, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of the late Albert F. Gallatin. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 West Market Street, York with her pastors, The Rev. Kevin T. Shively and The Rev. Diane G. Wenthe officiating. Private burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born November 13, 1918 in York a daughter of the late Oliver and Verna C. (Crist) Jacobs, she was a graduate of the Class of 1936 from William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Gallatin had retired from York County Board of Assistance after more than 14 years of service. She was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Suburban Garden Club, and enjoyed yard work and tending to the flowers in her garden. Mrs. Gallatin is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. and husband Charles “Steve” Stephenson of Middletown; a son, Lynn A. Gallatin of Chagrin Falls, OH; two grandchildren, Krista L. Weisberg and Matthew A. Gallatin; a great granddaughter, Paige R. Weisberg; a sister, Norma Cutshall of Dover; a brother, Glen Jacobs of Brogue; her son in law, Pastor Neal MacPherson of Honolulu, HI; her daughter in law, Susan Gallatin of Chagrin Falls, OH; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Gallatin MacPherson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
