Charlotte E. Cryder

SOUTH RENOVO - Charlotte E. Cryder , 97, of Renovo passed away December 15, 2016, at the Bucktail Medical Center where she had been cared for by a wonderful staff of nurses, aides and hospice. Born on November 22, 1919, in Clinton County, PA, Charlotte was the daughter of Cleveland Strouse and Rose Jane Shoemaker. She was married to Claire LaRue Cryder on July 20, 1940 who passed away on January 20, 1992. Charlotte and LaRue were blessed briefly with daughter Dorothy Ann Cryder who was born and passed away in infancy in 1941. Charlotte was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ and sang in the choir for years. Charlotte spent many hours volunteering with several local organizations including the Flaming Foliage in Renovo and the Ross Library in Lock Haven from which she received numerous awards and recognitions. Charlotte loved to cook and especially bake. Nieces and nephews remember fondly receiving paper bags of assorted types of Christmas Cookies and holiday pumpkin rolls. Charlotte was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters including: Fred and Ralph Strouse of Lock Haven and Edith Muthler of Loganton. She is survived by nieces and nephews including Diane Chesnut of Montoursville, Keith Muthler of Loganton, Sally Pinches of Punta Gorda FL, Ronnie Lee Strouse of San Bernadino, CA, and Cathy Peddie of Lock Haven, Pa as well as several great nieces and nephews including Kristy Hinton, Ashley Hinton-Sharp, Beth and Brian Muthler, and Jonathan Sente. Per Charlotte’s wishes there will be no viewing or memorial service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the North Bend Cemetery, North Bend.
