RED LION- Charles W. Tyson, 82, died on Monday, May 22, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Arlette E. (Reisinger) Tyson. The couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on April 25. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Steve Almquist officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Born on February 5, 1935 in York, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Estella (Minnich) Tyson. Charles was a maintenance supervisor for York County until his retirement and was currently employed with Apple Ford for almost ten years. Mr. Tyson attended Living Word Community Church. He was a member of the F&M Masonic Lodge #649 in Red Lion. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Along with his wife Arlette, Charles is survived by two sons, John S. Tyson and wife, Cathy of Jacksonville, FL and Scott C. Tyson and wife, Krysta of Red Lion; one daughter, Kathy S. Pendergast of York; seven grandchildren, Nicole Little and husband, Jeff, Clinton Neff and wife, Emily, Erika Gilbert and husband, Robert, Taylor Johnson and husband, Jason, Jillian Tyson, Lydia Tyson and Brett Tyson; seven great grandchildren, Isabella Gilberto, Dominick Gilberto, Bobby Gilbert, Drew Gilbert, Elle Gilbert, James Neff and Audrey Neff; and one sister, Frances Kohler of York. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Cleo Wagman, Carolyn Gruver, Phyllis Hoover and Betty Tyson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603 or the SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
